Only in this lifetime

There are many things that can only be done in this lifetime, before we pass on to glory forever.

Like crying.

Tears don’t exist in Heaven. Our only chance to give God the gift of tears is now, in this lifetime, as we allow our hearts to be tender and broken. How precious must be the tears of a beloved child on earth, to the Father in Heaven.

Like worship freely given.

In Heaven, everyone will worship. They simply will, forever and ever. Here on earth, we have a choice. Our only chance to freely worship is now, in this lifetime, as we stand on the mountain top of spiritual ecstasy or walk through the dark night of the soul. How precious must be the adoration offered willingly, to the Father who though omnipotent, allows us to choose.

Like giving away our lives.

This temporal life lived in the body will come to a decisive end one day. And by then, the chance to give it away for love would have passed forever. It is only now, as we live in time, that we can give our lives away to love God, to love neighbour. How precious must be the days, the months, the years that are freely surrendered, to the Father who is timeless.

How precious are the gifts that can only be offered in this lifetime.
