Love is the motivation, joy is the reward

At the heart of faithful stewardship is love, love for the one who has gone away.

Love is the motivation. It makes every burden light. 

And joy is the reward.

Joy is found in the process.

It is in seeing something precious to the beloved flourish and blossom, against the odds.

Joy is found in the anticipating.

It is in looking forward to the joy of the beloved when he finally tastes of the glorious fruit.

Joy is the consummation of love.

“Well done, good and faithful servant; you have been faithful over a few things. I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your Lord.” (Matthew 25:21)
